THEY SAID… THEY SAID…

Andy PRIAULX
“I thought a win might never happen again! I’m very happy to be back winning again. Turn one here is carnage so you have to pick your way through and hope you come out the other side. To be honest I was surprised because in qualifying Gabriele’s (Tarquini) pace was sensational. The pace appears to drop off in the SEATs so it was nice to reel them in. Yes, there is a mathematical chance of winning the championship but I think it’s unlikely, very unlikely.”

Augusto FARFUS
“We knew this track would be good for us but we couldn’t show how much in qualifying because of the weather conditions. After the first race my car was badly damaged and it’s thanks to my team that it was back on the track for Race 2. From now on I need to score points in every race. We’re now going to Imola which is a circuit that doesn’t suit us so we will have to get what we can before going to the neutral tracks in Japan and Macau.”

Gabriele TARQUINI
“My results today are thanks to my fantastic qualifying. Our pace is so far from the BMWs it’s like we are in different categories, which is frustrating. Yes, Imola is a good track for the front wheel drive cars but this year our pace isn’t the same as last year so I don’t expect to be as fast at Imola on this visit.”

Rickard RYDELL
“Here everyone has to almost stop their car to get through the first corner. I was roughly fifth coming through and was lucky. I’m very pleased there are two SEATs on the podium but over the last few races the BMWs have been stronger. Thanks to good decisions and teamwork we have got some good results here.”

Tom CORONEL
“We needed this one. There have been lots of ups-and-downs for me recently. In Race 1 I saw that Porteiro was out of the race so started to play it a little bit safe. In the second I thought D’Aste was ahead of me because I couldn’t hear what I was being told on the radio. I pushed like hell expecting to see him and it wasn’t until I finished the race I realised I had won. We are still fighting for the championship and I hope we can make it to the last two events or these victories are useless.”
