The Briton won the first one from SEAT Sport’s Gabriele Tarquini and Rickard Rydell, ending a 15-month drought. Later Priaulx claimed another podium result, finishing second between Farfus and Tarquini.
These results deeply shook the championship classification, as Tarquini has taken the lead with a slim one-point margin ahead of Farfus.
Yvan Muller, who had led since the first race of the season in Curitiba, slipped to third (7 points behind) after experiencing another tough weekend. The reigning World Champion has scored only four points in the last four races.
One point is also the gap that separates SEAT from BMW in the Manufacturers’ Championship, while Tom Coronel is the new leader of the Independents’ Trophy thanks to two great races that were also worth 6 overall points.
The championship will resume on September 20th at Imola, Italy, for rounds 19 and 20.
