Last year Muller became the fifth French automobile world champion after Alain Prost, Jean-Louis Schlesser, Didier Auriol and Sébastien Loeb. In the attempt to defend his title, Yvan is currently second, two points behind his SEAT Sport team-mate Gabriele Tarquini and 11 points ahead of BMW Team Germany’s Augusto Farfus.
“Our season has been plenty of ups and downs. However our technicians have doubled their efforts and we have never given up on our main goal, the Manufacturers’ Championship. I am very excited to go to Macau again. I love that track with the slowest corner and the fastest corner of the whole season. It is very easy to make mistakes there and pay them dearly. The worst way to face Macau is being under pressure. Both Gabriele and Augusto will be under pressure, because they are still chasing their first world title. As for me, I feel serene, because I have nothing to lose,” Muller said.
