
Augusto Farfus was fastest with a lap of 1:26.177, followed by Andy Priaulx 0.114 seconds off and Jorg Müller 0.265 slower.
An incredible 17 of the 20 drivers' times were within the same second.
Alain Menu was the fourth quickest overall at the wheel of his Chevrolet Lacetti. He was only non-BMW driver to make it into the top six.
Below him on the timesheet were BMW Team Italy-Spain companions Alessandro Zanardi, who achieved his best result of the weekend so far, and Félix Porteiro.
N.technology's James Thompson posted a lap of 1:26.848 which placed him a solid seventh. The eighth best time was set by independent competitor Sergio Hernández.
The top SEAT driver was Gabriele Tarquini. His time was 0.761 of a second off the pace of Farfus which placed him ninth on the timesheet.
