ROAL Motorsport’s Alberto Cerqui claimed a brilliant podium results at Imola, on his first participation as a guest driver in the MINI Rushhour trophy.
The young Italian had set the second fastest qualifying lap, only six thousandths of a second off pole position of his ROAL Motorsport team-mate Alessandro Tolfo.
During the first race, on Saturday afternoon, Cerqui had an exciting fight with Samuele Baldan and Andrea Nember over the second place and eventually finished as runner up behind the winner Tolfo.
“It has been a great race on an exciting race track. The Cooper S is a nice car to drive. I found myself at ease straight away and was able to fight with the top drivers of the series,” said Cerqui.
The second race, on Sunday, was unlucky for Cerqui who was remained stranded in the gravel trap after a collision with another driver.
