11 September 2012 08:33 NG WINS CLASS IN ZOLDER 24 HOURS

WTCC regular Charles Ng won the GT-2 in the 24 Hours of Zolder last Sunday. This was the first participation ever in a 24 hour race for the Hong Kong driver.

Ng shared a Porsche 996 Cup run by the Skylimit Race Team with Belgian racers Jan Wouters, Jeffrey van Hooydonk, Olivier Hermans and Bart Vanhaeren. They were classified seventh overall and first in class.
“I was delighted to claim class victory in my first 24 hour race. We made the most out of the situation and delivered a brilliant result in spite of a fire on front brakes, a few unexpected punctures and engine shutting off in middle of the straight during my two-and-a-half hour stint in the early morning. Zolder is a very physical demanding track especially for a 24 hour race and we were excited to see the finish line as class winners,” Ng commented.
