The 2012 FIA World Touring Car champions were honoured yesterday night, during the traditional party at the Macau Tower.
One after the other all the players of the season that ended yesterday after twelve race meetings around the world were called on the stage to collect their awards.
Norbert Michelisz was awarded with the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy, while Evgeny Malinoskiy director of Lukoil collected the
Yokohama Team’s Trophy for Lukoil Racing Team.
Chevrolet Europe Communications Director Vijay Iyer received the Manufacturers’ Championship trophy by the hands of Alan Gow, president of the FIA Touring Car Commission.
But the limelight was especially bright for the Drivers’ Championship awards that WTCC promoter Marcello Lotti handed to the Chevrolet trio of Yvan Muller (third), Alain Menu (second) and Rob Huff, the 2012 world champion.
