2012 FIA GT World Champion Marc Basseng, who will be joining the FIA World Touring Car Championship this year with ALL-LINKL-COM Münnich Motorsport, began the season in style claiming a podium at the Daytona 24 Hours.
Basseng finished the Florida enduro in second position of the GT class, sharing an Audi R8 Grand-Am with Ian Baas, Frank Stippler and René Rast. The German car, run by APR Motorsport completed 678 laps at Daytona, crossing the finishing line only 1.5 seconds after the winning sister car of the Alex Job Racing.
Markus Winkelhock, who shared the 2012 FIA GT title with Basseng and will join him in WTCC, was classified seventh, one lap behind; Winhelhock was also at the wheel of an APR Motorsport Audi R8.
