The WTCC Trophy is set for a team-mate tussle with Sébastien Loeb Racing drivers Mehdi Bennani and Tom Chilton joint top of the table after the Morocco season opener earlier this month.

Bennani (pictured centre), the reigning WTCC Trophy champion, bagged the points for two second place finishes in the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s category for independent racers with Chilton (right) claiming a third and first in Marrakech.

Chilton’s victory came after Bennani was demoted following a Main Race clash with Nicky Catsburg, which leaves the SLR pair equal first on 16 points, three more than Campos Racing’s Esteban Guerrieri has managed so far.

Tiago Monteiro says there can be no slip-ups in the battle to win the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship.
